Sign in to the same Pocka account on each device once. After that, transferring files between devices takes two actions: put it on the shelf, take it from the shelf. If the device has a modern browser, it works: Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, Android.
Put
Drop, paste or type on one device. Text, images, files or a whole folder.
Take
Open Pocka on your other device, then save, copy or download it. No need to wait for the upload to finish.
Gone
Taken items leave the shelf. Others expire in 24 h.
Made for moving files, not keeping them
Pocka is not cloud storage. It is a short stop between two of your devices, for the moments AirDrop doesn’t cover: iPhone to Windows, Android to Mac, a work laptop to a home PC.
Transfer, not storage
An item waits on the shelf only until you take it, and never longer than 24 hours. Once taken, it is removed from the server after a few seconds’ undo window. Nothing piles up, and there is nothing to clean up later. How deletion works
Sign in once, skip the link
Tools that skip sign-in hand you a link or a code, and you still need email or a chat app to get it onto the other device. With Pocka, both devices are signed in to the same account, so whatever you put on one is already waiting on the other. You sign in once per device; every transfer after that is just put and take.
Nothing to organize
No folders to create, no file tree, no share settings, no pages to dig through. One shelf and two actions.
Whole folders, no manual zipping
Drop a folder on a computer and your browser packs it into one zip before upload. In Chrome or Edge on a computer, Pocka asks once where to save, then rebuilds the folder as it was. Other browsers and phones download the zip. A folder counts as one item, with the same 10 MB limit.
Optional lock, with a key only you know
Most handoffs need nothing more than HTTPS. For sensitive items, set a personal key and lock them. They are encrypted in your browser before upload, folders included, so the server only holds data it cannot read. Pocka never receives your key. How the lock works
Pocka vs. emailing yourself, chat apps and cloud drives
Most people move files between their own devices by emailing themselves, messaging themselves or using a cloud drive. Those work, but each one leaves a copy behind that you have to find and clean up later.
Yes, during the beta. Each item can be up to 10 MB, and each account can keep up to 50 MB on its shelf.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Pocka runs in the browser on each device, so there is nothing to install or update. Bookmark it, or add it to your phone’s home screen.
Do both devices need to be online at the same time?
No. Put something on the shelf now and take it from another device any time within 24 hours. If both are open, the other device can start taking it while it is still uploading.
What happens when I take an item?
It is saved or copied on that device and removed from your shelf. You get a few seconds to undo, in case you tapped by mistake.
Is it encrypted?
Everything travels over HTTPS. For extra privacy you can set a personal key and lock individual items so they are encrypted in your browser before upload. Pocka never sees that key, so it cannot be recovered if lost.
Can I send a whole folder?
Yes, from a computer. Drag it in or use the folder button; it travels as one zip and counts as one item. Chrome and Edge on a computer can save it back as a folder; other browsers download the zip.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Signing in on both devices is what lets an item go straight from one to the other, with no link to copy and forward. Use Google or email. Your shelf belongs only to your account; there are no public links.
